I'm graduating soon, can I keep my Penn student email?
No, you won't be able to keep your Penn student email (PennKey@upenn.edu). Per University policy, your PennO365 student account (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, etc) will expire 60 days after your graduation date. For students graduating in May, this date is generally in mid-August. Once the account expires, you won't be able to access your Outlook account as well as other Office products (including OneDrive).
After you graduate, you should begin using your Penn Alumni Gmail exclusively. Students may begin using it long before they graduate to ease the transition at graduation.
For long-term contacts, we recommend using your alumni or personal email address on any contact information you distribute to people who may need to reach you after you graduate.
If your Penn Outlook account has expired and you need an extension to backup your important data, please open a support ticket with GSE IT to restore your account. 30 days after your account expiration date (90 days after the graduation), your PennO365 account with your data will be permanently deleted. We won't be able to retrieve your data after this date.
To backup your email or create alumni email account, please see Email Tips for Graduating Students.
