This article is for all GSE faculty, staff & students who are returning to campus: Many who previously connected to the AirPennNet wireless network successfully before the pandemic are experiencing problems upon their return to campus. 

  • The fix requires removing the profile from your devices and installing a new profile.
  • If you're not on campus and you want to prepare your device ahead of time, follow the directions to remove the old AirPennNet profile in your section below and then go to this address https://cloud.securew2.com/public/29559/AirPennNet/ and click the JoinNow button.  Download and open the WiFi_UPenn_Wrapper installer.  Enter your PennKey when prompted.  When you get to campus, just connect to the AirPennNet network.



iPhone/iPad:


       To remove the old AirPennNet profile

  1. Go to Settings then General then Profiles.
  2. Select the “University of Pennsylvania” AirPennNet profile.
  3. Delete the profile.

        To reconnect to AirPennNet


        1. Go to Settings then Wi-Fi.

        2. Click on Connect to AirPennNet.

        3. Go to the home screen and open Safari.

        4. Enter upenn.edu in the address bar.

        5. Follow the instructions to download the profile.  

        6. The downloaded profile will be at the top of the Settings under Profile Downloaded

        7. Install it and then connect to the AirPennNet network.



Macs:


       To remove the old AirPennNet profile

  1. Click on the Apple menu at the top-left of your screen.  
  2. Click System Preferences then Network.
  3. Select Wi-Fi in the list on the left.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. The Wi-Fi pane shows a Preferred Networks list.
  6. Click on AirPennNet and then click the remove button (–) beneath the list.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Apply.

       To reconnect to AirPennNet

  1. Connect to the "Connect to AirPennNet" network in the Wi-Fi menu near the clock.
  2. Open Safari browser and enter upenn.edu in the address bar.
  3. Click the JoinNow button. 
  4. Download and open the WiFi_UPenn_Wrapper.dmg file and follow the steps.
  5. If you have trouble, go to step 2 and select the Configure Profile Only method.  Enter your PennKey and click the JoinNow button.  Download and install the profile and then connect to the AirPennNet network in the WiFi menu near the clock.



Windows 10:


        To remove the old AirPennNet profile 


        1. Open the Start menu.

        2. Search for WiFi settings, click on the matching result.

        3. In the WiFi settings window, click Manage known networks.   

        4. Click on AirPennNet in the list and click Forget.  

        

       To reconnect to AirPennNet 

  1. Click the WiFi icon near the clock. Click on the "Connect to AirPennNet" network. 
  2. Open your preferred browser and enter upenn.edu in the address bar.
  3. Click the JoinNow button.
  4. Download and open the WiFi_UPenn_Wrapper.exe file and follow the steps.
