Student Guide: Watch Videos via Panopto

Panopto is the media hosting platform used by Penn. Many videos are stored on Panopto (listed as "Class Recordings" on a Canvas course menu).

New Users?

Video access is straightforward by logging into Canvas using your Pennkey and password. The first time you attempt to play a video, a pop-up might appear prompting you to give Panopto permission. It's essential to select "allow" and "remember" for seamless video playback within Canvas. Occasionally, you might need to re-login to Canvas to view videos.

Additional Functions

Panopto videos can be watched directly within Canvas Pages or via the Panopto player. Using the Panopto player offers extra functionalities, including the ability to search within the video and a note-taking feature. Simply find the video (normally located on the Canvas page) and click the arrow on the right bottom corner.
